Family Water Conservation Workshop
The Douglas County School District kicks off the One Book One District event featuring the book If You Come To Earth by award winning author Sophie Blackall.
Participate in family oriented, hands-on activities that demonstrate several fun ways that you can conserve water at home. Sessions may include Water Cycle Investigation, Indoor and Outdoor Conservation, Native Plants, and Water Critters.
This event is 80% indoors, 20% outdoor (weather permitting). Dress for the weather and bring a refillable water jug. Snacks are provided.
When - Saturday, November 5, 2022, 10am to 12:30pm
Where - CALF’s Lowell Ranch, 2330 East Frontage Road, Castle Rock, CO 80104. Located just south of Creekside Bible Church in Castle Rock.
Why - Raise awareness of local water conservation and protect our local water sources

Free Tree and Windbreak Workshop
Tree & Windbreak Workshop
Led by the Colorado State Forest Service and the U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), this workshop focuses on a selection of seedling trees, their care and common issues. Additionally, NRCS will lead us through windbreak design for habitat and property protection. Bring your questions for the Foresters and the NRCS Staff.

Free Native Plants for Bird Habitat Workshop
Local non-profit partner, Denver Audubon will present on the complexity of wild bird diets, highlighting some of our dynamic Colorado native plants for your landscape that also support beneficial pollinators and other wonderful wildlife. Join us for a lively and engaging workshop – plant it and they will come! Presenter Kate Hogan is a certified CSU Native Plant Master and manages the Audubon Nature Center demonstration gardens at Chatfield State Park.

Free Front Range Native Plants Workshop
Front Range Native Plants
Douglas County Master Gardeners will discuss with us the benefits of native plants that thrive in our climate and in our soil conditions. Plant selection, planting method, and care will be covered. Plan for a short walk around the CSU Extension gardens before the workshop.
