Dolgo crab apples have an acidic, sweet-tart flavor.  The fruit are large for a crabapple but quite small by apple standards, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Originally from Kazakhstan in the late 1800s, the Dolgo Crab Apple tree is one of the hardiest available.  It’s been shown to withstand cold to least -40 degrees F. White blossoms in the spring give way to fruit in the fall. Crab Apple foliage turns bright red in the fall making this a highlight in your yard.

Apples prefer 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil conditions.
Mature Size – 12 to 16 feet tall and is self pollinating and bears fruit 2-3 years after planting.
