Residential: Now Permitted under Colorado Law
Did you know?
The Governor signed HB16-1005 on May 12, 2016. It is finally now legal for Colorado residents to collect up to 110 gallons of rainwater off their residential urban rooftop.
Legal for Most Homes
Most homes are entitled to use up to 2 rain barrels with a combined storage capacity of 110 gallons.
Use it for Plants
Harvested rainwater can be used to water your garden plants or irrigate your lawn.
Don’t Drink It!
You should never drink untreated water from your roof, as it may harbor dangerous organisms.
